More Halloween...

So, aside from dressing Scarlet up as a cute little piggie and taking her to the ward Halloween party, we carved pumpkins (Ryan made a Mario pumpkin and Scarlet accidentally knocked the face in lol....and I made Scarlet a random faced pumpkin..My pumpkin was saved so I can paint it for Thanksgiving!)...Also, one of my friends Lora and her husband Jake decided they wanted to dress up as AVATAR characters! I got to do Lora's hair and makeup and turned her into Neytiri, the main AVATAR woman, and Jake dressed up as the human version of her love, Jake Sulley....It was fun!!

Saturday is a special day...

Today was a great family day for Ryan, Scarlet and I!

We went to Lynchburg here in Virginia and looked around for a Halloween costume for Scarlet. We had a Halloween party at our church and were wanting to find something before that because we thought it'd be fun! We ended up finding her a cute little piggie costume (totally suits her too because she LOVES any kind of food haha. That cute little girl is definitely not a picky eater!)...So, Ryan and I decided we'd dress up as farmers (pig farmers). We had fun talking to people in our ward and getting to show of our little pig (Hehe)...Today was just an overall good day!!

Sorry this post is so short, and also that I haven't written in almost two weeks!! Things have just been busy busy busy lately!

Stuff

I'm not even going to talk about how bad at blogging I am...I'm pretty sure I start every other post with that because it is just SO hard for me to stay motivated enough to update...However, I know I NEED to do it so, I suppose I will, lol.

So many things have happened since my last post, I don't even know where to begin!!!

This past summer Ryan, Scarlet, and I took a trip to the west to visit family in Wyoming and Nebraska..Scarlet was AMAZING on both plane trips there and back...Due to the time difference and flight times, we were all pretty jet-lagged the first week we were with family as well as the first week back home in Virginia lol. We just couldn't seem to get enough sleep!!

Ryan started school back up in September and I've been running my own mobile cosmetology business called KF Beauty LLC! I'm loving it because I do MORE than just cutting hair like I was doing at Salon DC in Lexington...dunno if I ever posted about working there, but, if I didn't it's ok. It's not really worth my time to talk about! Things didn't work out there but it ended up being a blessing in disguise because not only have I gotten more clients on my own, but, I'm also able to be with my sweetie pie Scarlet (and the dogs Suka and Ella) every day AND help earn a little extra income for our family...Because Ryan is in school full time and playing soccer for SVU (he's captain again!) he has very little time to be able to work, so, that's another reason I am so blessed to be doing my cosmetology work because every little bit of money helps!!

Scarlet is over 10 months old and is the sweetest, cutest, funniest little baby I know!! And yes, I know, I'm biased because I'm her mother...but seriously. Lol. She's been crawling since Father's Day (great present for her daddy!) And started walking just before she hit 10 months old! She is SO smart! She can say "mom, momma, dad, dada" and one time said, "hot!" to me when I was asking about her bath water lol. She loves to feed herself (and LOVES any types of food, I'm blessed to have a non-picky eater!) and her two best friends are our huskies Suka and Ella. She absolutely loves playing with them and no matter what they do, at she will laugh hysterically hahaha. Oh gosh, I love her!

Ryan and I are trying to figure out what we want to do next year after he graduates from SVU. We're hoping we can find him a good job (we're looking all over the US) as well as a good place we'd like to live, somewhere we wouldn't mind settling down...I still can't believe we've lived in Virginia for almost a year and a half already! Time as FLOWN!

I also can't believe that Scarlet is almost a year old. It makes me happy, but also pretty sad at the same time. I'm grateful she's growing and is healthy, but, I want her to stay this cute little sweetie baby forever! She's my baby!!! Lol.

So, I know I posted my weight loss journey earlier and I was having some great results. But, for some reason or another I lost all sorts of motivation. Stopped working out (minus the occasional walks with Scarlet) and didn't really pay much attention to my eating habits (although I've never really been a "bad" eater, I eat healthy things, but, my weakness is carbs like pastas and breads!) and I've gained some weight back....I had gotten myself down to the 120's again (just 3 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight and 10 pounds away from my goal weight!!) but due to my lack of motivation have gained some back (although I still weigh less than I did before I started working out so I can at least be a little happy for that lol).

Anyway, tomorrow I will be starting Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred...I will (try to) keep updated on my results etc. and at the end I will post some before and after pics.

New (to us) Table!!

So, I didn't get a chance to post last week....Which means I'll be posting twice this week....yay for whomever reads my blog!...right?

Last Monday I was posting a sale item on this Yard Sale page I am a part of on facebook. As I was scrolling through the page, I came upon a post from a woman selling a wooden table + 6 chairs for $100, and she needed to sell them and get them gone IMMEDIATELY because I guess they were moving that day. I'd been talking to Ryan about getting a new dining set for months because although the one we had was attractive, it was small (only sits 4 people) and a little wobbly (not because it was broken or anything, it was just that the particular metal it's made out of is not all that sturdy when placed on carpet) and I was worrying about when Scarlet becomes mobile (which she now is...rolling and scooting herself everywhere!) and could just picture her knocking into the table or chairs and things just crashing down on top of her...not good.

Ryan's 23rd birthday happened to be on Thursday so I decided that I'd buy that table and chairs and paint and stain everything and he'd come home from work and be surprised by this beautiful "new" table! lol....Here's the before pic of the table:

I personally did not think this table was going to be as gross as it was when I went to pick it up. No offense to the previous owners, but, it really was gnarly lol. The chairs and table legs were covered in nasty goop, animal hair, and had random marks all over them. The tabletop had been sanded to create a distressed look (according to the seller) but really it just had weird sanding on it that just made it look dirty, not distressed lol....My hopes of painting and sanding this table before Ryan getting home were flushed down the drain lol...

When Ryan called me from work later that day, I told him what I did (bought the table and chairs) and what  I'd planned on doing. He seemed kinda iffy about it, but, supported me anyway...He even told me that for his birthday he wanted to help me out! (Despite me constantly saying I wanted to do it by myself haha)...

We borrowed a sander from our friends the Biggs instead of having to do the whole thing by hand (definitely life AND time saver!)

Look at the difference just from sanding!!!!

Ryan did all the sanding and helped me spray paint 3 of the 6 chairs as well as putting the top clear glossy coat on the table. I painted 3 chairs as well as the table base and legs and I did all the staining on the table.

Table and chairs (almost)completely finished (I still need to get 5 more seat cushions to put on the chairs) !!!

Day 30 & Day 60

I know there's not a big noticeable difference but I still wanted to share!!! The difference between these pics is 3lbs and an inch in my waist!!! Since starting exercising in March I have lost 7lbs and 2 inches in my waist!!! 5 1/2 months postpartum with just 5lbs left to get to my pre-pregnancy weight (I gained 44lbs during pregnancy so that's a good feat I think!!) and about 12lbs left to lose til I get to my goal weight. I've been running every day but Sunday and can see that it's paying off!

Zombies, Run!

Yes, run for your lives!! The zombie apocalypse has begun!...On my iPod. hahaha...

Almost 2 weeks ago I downloaded an app on my iPod called Zombies, Run! It's a running app that tracks your pace, distance, and time all within a game where you're running from zombies and collecting supplies for your little town of Abel. The longer you run, the more supplies you collect, the more supplies you collect the more you build up your base, and the more you build up your base the more people you save!! It starts off with 99 people and so far in the past 1 week 5 days that I've been using it I've been able to build that number to 148 with all the supplies I've collected. It's SO fun and it makes me WANT to run....So much so that on August 11th I, Kellsi Foster, will be running in either a 5K race or....drum roll please.....a half marathon!!

This coming Monday I'll start training. If I do well with it this summer and feel up to the challenge, I'll most definitely compete in the half marathon. If I don't feel quite up to par by then, I'll compete in the 5K. Either one is fine with me since I've never done these before! It's always been my goal to do it, but, I've just never done it, so, I figured since there are SO many race opportunities here in VA I'd better take advantage while we're here!! Plus this is a spectacular way for me to finally get back into shape (and be in even BETTER shape than I was pre-pregnancy)...

The game Zombies, Run! has made me think "What if something like this were to actually happen?" in the event that it DID happen, I'd most definitely want to be a survivor and save my family. But, how would I be able to save them if I couldn't run that fast or far because I was too out of shape? That would be devastating!!! I know Ryan would be able to save himself, heck, he's one of the most fit people I know, he goes running almost every morning (and with our 2 huskies nonetheless) he does p90x EVERY morning, AND pretty soon he'll be training for soccer once again (his season starts up again in August). So yeah, I know he'd definitely be able to take care of himself if he had to run for his life. But, what about me? I wanna be like that too! I don't work out (only) because I want to look good (yes, it IS one of the reasons, but who doesn't want to look and feel good?!). I want to be STRONG and have stamina, endurance, and the ability to  protect my children and myself....So, by golly, that's what I intend to do!!!!

Now, I am going to post some pictures that are a little bit, no, a LOT a bit, embarrassing...I'm going to post pictures of my body that I took, and will be taking, every month since March. It's going to help me see the transformation myself since when I look at myself in the mirror I still just see a body that makes me unhappy rather than the fact that changes ARE occurring!...So, please don't laugh. Don't judge me. And please don't compare my body to yours or anyone else's, good or bad!!

Also, bear in mind that in these pics, I'd only actually worked out for 8 days...and then both Scarlet and I got sick so there really isn't that big of a difference, but, I made myself get "difference" pics anyway because I DID lose 4lbs and an inch in my waist within those 8 days!

Pics on the left are Day 1. Pics on the right are Day 30.
